Mimi talks about her flower paintings...  “Like all artists, my work is a reflection of everything I’ve learned and experienced.  It’s taken me years to perfect the process I use to get such artistic realism and luminescent colors in my originals.  My desire is to open the door to the real beauty and inner radiance of a flower, so it’s soul can be revealed.  Each piece of art that I paint on my computer and then again in my studio takes weeks and sometimes months to create.  I love every minute of the process.  I literally lose myself in the intimate beauty of the flower while I discover and capture its life essence.  After the art is printed to canvas, I repaint each original in my studio with acrylic paint creating the fine details thus bringing the original to life making it unique and giving it more depth.”

Mimi talks about her pet portraits...  “The say that the eyes are the window to the soul.  When I’m painting a portrait of someones best pet friend, it’s the eyes that are my main focus.  Just like the flower that I’ve caught exposing itself to me, our furry friends give me the opportunity to express their true nature through my art, too.  Each has it’s own voice and inspires a unique vision.  Magic happens for me when I can capture their essence and bring it to life in my art.  Then, that single moment can last forever.  When I am able to capture that vision in my heart it’s amazingly satisfying.”

Mimi talks about Giclée printing... “While my large original canvas’s might be beyond some budgets, I want to make my art accessible to everyone; so all my paintings are also available as archival Giclée paper prints.  Giclée is a 21st century art form and is a French word meaning, “to spray.”  I can print on paper up to 44” wide.  For me, this process allows my art to come alive for more people to appreciate.  I love it when people enjoy my art, this new print medium, and the opportunity to catch a glimpse of a flower or a loved pet revealing its soul in my paintings.”
